What is March's vegetable of the month?
G: "Peas"
What do you like about peas?
G: "Hmm. Ahhh. It's hard. They are so like... they're just so good. They are like candy and it is my favorite fresh thing from the garden. Also what I like about peas is that they are useful in like everything. Many dishes."
What does a pea plant look like?
G: "It's green and they love to climb so you need a ropes course for them to climb on."
Do you like peas plain or added into something?
G: "Plain. Fresh out of the garden is just so good."
Do you help pick peas?
G: "Yes, I do. And also what I like about peas is that they are so easy to take along. If you have to grab and go, you just can and it's like, man you got yourself some food."
How many pea pods would you say you eat in a day?
G: "Thirty or more. Because I love peas. Best snack."
What's the weirdest thing you've ever had peas with?
G: "Probably ketchup." (this is the same as cucumbers... yeah, we are Midwestern!)
Is there anything else you'd like to share about peas?
G: "I don't necessarily want to."
Farm Fun Fact: Pea plants have little coiled tendrils that grab onto the "ropes course" or whatever structure is used to support them. They are perfect little holds that look like a green spring and they are extremely tough to break!
